Food Pantry mural beckons for the weary and burdened at St. Mark’s Episcopal in Fincastle

The Botetourt Food Pantry housed at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church has a new mural on the buidling. It was painted earlier this fall as seen from US. 220 Roanoke Road. The Pantry serves the needy through out the county and represents the food insecurity needs. Approximately 5,000 citizens living in Botetourt are at or below the poverty line as earlier reported by the Botetourt Social Services to the Board of Supervisors in the Summer of 2021.

Toobz Muir an area artist painted the large mural of a beckoning Jesus.

To me it says:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

–Matt. 11: 28-30
