Library grants awarded
Botetourt County Libraries Announce Library Incentive Fund Grant Awardees
(Botetourt County, VA) – During the June 27, 2023, Botetourt County Board of Supervisors, Botetourt County Libraries presented projects for the 2023 Library Incentive Fund Grants. Projects submitted for Library Incentive Fund Grant monies provide up to a 50% match.
Botetourt County will be providing $15,000 in funding through the Library Incentive Funds Grant. We want to congratulate our Friends of the Library groups on these approved projects:
- Friends of the Fincastle Library – $7,750 towards upgrading furnishings and increasing accessibility to the community at the Fincastle Library . Total project cost: $15,500
- Friends of the Eagle Rock Library – $2,500 towards upgrading furnishings for youth areas and facilitating resource organization for youth programming. Total project cost: $5,000
- Friends of the Buchanan Library – $3,000 towards the memorial garden and mural project behind the library facility that will provide outdoor seating, library resources, library visibility, and a photo opportunity for visitors to the branch. Total project cost: $6,000
- Friends of the Blue Ridge Library – $1,750 towards the mural artwork that has been designed at the branch. Total project cost: $3,500
All projects were unanimously approved by the Board of Supervisors. We want to thank the Friends of the Library groups for their investment into our libraries!
