First of our “Women in Business” highlights for Botetourt County

A break for WINUP Paint Night led by Botetourt’s Candace Monahan

The Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals met at Ballast Point to sharpen the skills of their trade on Monday August 5. One of many groups dedicated to furthering the skills and knowledge of women in the profession, the also used Botetourt entrepreneur and artist Candace Monahan Design for a team building exercise, “Paint Night.” Monahan is also the force behind the Sunflower Festival in Botetourt County.

Mission: The Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals provides a link for developing and recognizing professionals involved with utility business trends, issues, products and services.

Objectives:

. To provide opportunities for professional development of members.

2. To provide networking and mentorship among members.

3. To provide recognition and visibility for members and business partners.

The VA Chapter is currently Chaired by Charity Kreher and is made up of 28 members throughout the state, mainly Roanoke Valley. We meet quarterly and volunteer throughout the year, all while building personal and professional relationships and giving back to our communities.
