Wrestling news was good for Botetourt County on June 7

The Roanoke Valley Wrestling Associaition honors local wrestlers and awards scholarships. On Monday night they honored several Botetourt County High School wrestlers!

On June 7, the Roanoke Valley Wrestling Association recognized VHSL State Wrestling Champions and presented scholarships to local wrestlers.  Hunter Forbes, 160-pound weight class and Carder Miller 195-pound weight class both from James River High School were recognized as state champions.  Sam Francis from Lord Botetourt High School and Addison McCaleb from James River High School were awarded the Ken Shelton Memorial Scholarship for $1,000.  Additionally, Nick Young from Lord Botetourt High School was awarded the Stan Parker Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
