Community Health Assessment Committee has productive news on North BotCo Van Service

Prior to the Covid pandemic, a committee of interested parties performed a Health Assessmnet on needs in Botetourt County. One was addressing Van service (and services like the food desert in Eagle Rock.) From Beth Leffel one of the community leaders in the Health Assessment and a member of the Eagle Rock Ruritan Club.

I am reaching out to you to help spread the word about a new service Botetourt County Parks and Recreation is offering citizens of the more rural parts of our county.
Botetourt County will now dedicate one of their van drivers to serve northern Botetourt on Tuesdays starting in January 2022. The cost for service is $6.00 per person and $12.00 for individuals requiring wheelchair transport. The dedicated Tuesday van driver will transport those who live in zip codes including 24066, 24085, 24422, 24438 or 24579. Riders are encouraged to call and schedule their ride as soon as possible; ride appointments must be scheduled at least one week in advance. To schedule a ride or to learn more please contact 540-928-2130.
Northern Botetourt residents can ride other days of the week too, but they should reserve their ride as early as possible.

If you know of anyone in Buchanan or Eagle Rock areas that can use this service, please pass along!
