Bank of Botetourt First Annual Casual for a Cause Raised over $5K in 2018

Bank of Botetourt is pleased to announce its First Annual “Casual for a Cause” raised over $5,000 in 2018. On the first Friday of every month, “Casual for a Cause” encourages employees to dress casually and donate to a charity of their choosing.  Members of the community are also invited to participate. This initiative continues throughout the 2019 year and all proceeds will be donated monthly.

The charities that directly benefited from this program in 2018 were selected through a voting process among the Bank staff. They included St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Carilion Children’s Hospital, American Red Cross, Autism Speaks, Juvenile Diabetes, SPCA, Salvation Army, New Freedom Farm, American Cancer Society, North Botetourt Community Garden & Feeding America, Angels of Assisi, End Alzheimer’s, Rockbridge Area Hospice, American Heart Association, Roanoke Rescue Mission and League for Animal Protection & Cats Unlimited.

The inaugural Casual for a Cause kicked off on Friday, November 3, 2017 and raised over $300 to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Carilion Children’s Hospital. This program is one of many ways that Bank of Botetourt takes care of its communities.

Bank of Botetourt was chartered in 1899 and now operates twelve retail offices in Botetourt, Rockbridge, Roanoke, and Franklin counties and the City of Salem, all in Virginia, and operates a mortgage division, Virginia Mountain Mortgage and a financial services division, Botetourt Wealth Management.
