Three book review requests now before Library Committee

Library Director Julie Phillips reported to The Botetourt Bee on May 1 that there has now been a total of three challenges to books in the library.

“The library has received reconsideration requests from 3 citizens: one citizen’s request to review 12 titles, and 2 requests to review The Every Body Book by Rachel Simon,” Phillips wrote in an email.

She also provided a list of the challenged books:

• Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown
• Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
• Growing Up LGBTQ by Duchess Harris (nonfiction)
• Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake
• Cool for the Summer by Dahlia Adler
• Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan
• Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy
• Bros (DVD & BluRay)

(The original request included 59 titles, but only 12 were owned by Botetourt.)
