Womanless Beauty Pageant 2/11 to Benefit Deputy Wyrick in her cancer battle

Deputy Wyrick is with the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office

Share the laughter for a great cause! Kim Saunders Wyrick is a single mother to her 14-year-old son and is a sheriff’s deputy for Botetourt County. She could use some help covering her medical bills. She loves to laugh and have a good time which is why we are having a Womanless Beauty Pageant as a fundraiser. It is going to be epic!

Kimberly Saunders Wyrick was diagnosed with breast cancer a little over 9 years ago. She had a double mastectomy shortly after and was cancer free after a few short months. Unfortunately, Kim’s cancer is back. She was recently diagnosed with Metastatic (Stage 4) Breast Cancer that has spread to her bones and lymph nodes. Her cancer is not curable and she is in the fight of slowing its progression. This is a life altering advanced stage disease that will require lifelong treatments.

Kim has undergone radiation and is taking oral medications and monthly infusions long term as long as they continue to work. She had to meet $4,500 out of pocket in November with scans and a biopsy. Her insurance year restarted in December and with additional scans and medicine, she had to meet the $4,500 out of pocket again for a total of $9,000 in just 2 months. She will owe it again in 11 months. That does not include all of the other miscellaneous stuff insurance doesn’t cover.
