Please recycle responsibly

We have had several complaints about the recycling efforts of the citizen’s in Botetourt County. Please do better. Having seen the Cloverdale Recycling Center recently with an old vaccuum, stacked boxes and yes clothing tossed in the bins, it is really annoying to think people do this. “When in doubt, don’t,” is a good rule for recycling. After talking with Greg Hannah over at The CCC, please it really helps if you do the right thing.

So read the recycling notes in the photos. The Citizens Convenience Center, the landfill, takes the auto liquid items, car batteries, metal and tires, things of that nature.

If you have questions refer to the botetourtva.gov website and search Recycling

If you foul a recycling dumpster it goes to the trash center instead.

Dump your papers, break down your boxes. Don’t mix plastic in with paper and vice versa.

Busy days are Saturday and Sunday. Don’t gripe if the recycling site is full Monday. One or two people have to empty these. It takes time. First day back at work and all recycling centers are likely full.

If you can, go Tuesday through Friday instead. Recycling Centers are located at most schools. Check the website.

Proactive recycling is best for all of us. Please Botetourt, do better!
