Covid -19 Cases climb to 145 in Botetourt County

While most of the state continues to decline, Botetourt County and the Roanoke Valley continue to have a rise in Covid-19 cases. Last week the VDH recommended that Myrtle Beach vacationers remain in quarantine for 14 days. No word on how much of this increase in cases remains part of that trend or is now community spread.
Last Tuesday the total of number of cases was 121. Today the case number is 145. A gain of 24 in the past week. Two weeks ago the count was 59. The net gain in two weeks is 86.
The hospitalization and death rates remain at 12 and 4 respectively. We do not know how frequently all parts of the VDH Dashboard are updated, but I am told there is a lag time.
Here is an interesting Covid-19 risk chart from the Texas Medical Association.

The CDC has called this a national rise in Phase One of the Coronavirus outbreak. A number of southern and western states are seeing a large increase. Other than the Southwestern part of Virginia, the rest of the state is averaging less cases per day. For more information during the week, following the VDH website.
