BOS meets Tuesday with remote and social distancing components

From Botetourt County:

The Board of Supervisors meeting is Tuesday April 28 at 2 p.m.

Social distancing and other measures will be used to protect the health of the citizens in this virtual meeting. Board members and staff will not be present together in the meeting room. For those wishing to view the meeting in person or comment in person, social distancing measures will be in place at the Greenfield Education and Training Center. These measures will include spaced seating, limited person-to-person contact, and reduced County staff in attendance.

Comments will be limited to three minutes as normal. Technology will be used to assist the public, staff, and the Board members to hold the meeting in as safe a manner as possible. Anyone wishing to offer comments to the Board but who does not wish to attend in person to speak during the meeting will have a number of ways to provide comments to the Board. First, those who wish to listen to the meeting and/or speak during the citizen comment time or one of the public hearings may call 1-540-300-9110 and enter the code 875778#. An automated operator will answer the call and provide direction for commenting during the hearing. Comments will be limited to three minutes as normal. The line will be open beginning at 1:55 p.m. the afternoon of the meeting. This option is only available during the course of the meeting

Second, written comments may be provided at any time through an online form available at: boco.community Comments may be provided for the citizen comment period, any public hearing, or on the budget. Comments submitted through this form will be provided to the Board members and County Administration. It is encouraged that comments be provided as soon as possible and in advance of the meeting, if possible. Doing so will help ensure that the comments can be incorporated into the record for the Board meeting. Comments on the budget will be received until it is adopted, which is anticipated to be in June.

Lastly, any comments can be sent at any time by phone at (540) 928-2006 or by postal mail to the County Administrators Office 57. S. Central Dr. Ste 200 Daleville, VA 24083
