Bank of Botetourt announces “Casual for a Cause” results

Bank of Botetourt Second Annual Casual for a Cause Raised Almost $6K in 2019

Bank of Botetourt’s Second Annual Casual for a Cause continued a program to support local organizations while also providing Bank employees with a day where they can wear jeans to work on the first Friday of each month. Casual for a Cause creates the opportunity for Bank employees to donate at least one dollar to participate. This initiative is also open to the community as contributions are welcome at any Bank of Botetourt office. Since inception this program has raised over $10,000. In 2019, non-profits within the Bank’s various communities received $5,600.

Each year, Bank of Botetourt employees select the various charities to benefit through an internal nominating and voting process. A total of 15 organizations benefited and included 4-H in Botetourt and Rockbridge, Autism Speaks, the American Heart Association, Botetourt Resource Center, Carilion Children’s Center, Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia, Education Foundations in Botetourt and Rockbridge, the Jamie Martin Memorial Scholarship, National Wild Turkey Federation Leagues in Botetourt and Rockbridge, Roanoke Valley Horse Rescue, Rockbridge Area Hospice, Relay for Life, Toys for Tots and Toys 4 Bot-E-Tots
