Sprinkle is bid adeiu after 20 years as Sheriff

Chairman of the Board Billy Martin read a proclamation in honor of Sheriff Sprinkle who is retiring .

Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle has a little over a week until retirement. On Thursday, Dec. 19, he was honored by Botetourt County for his 20 years as Sheriff. He said, ” I did not do this by myself. Many fine people have helped me along the way.” Sprinkle noted his greatest accomplishments with many helpers were the Botetourt and Craig Public Safety building and Sheriff’s Office Accredidation.

A proclamation and a watch were presented to him. Like the good soldier, Sprinkle stayed throughout the proceedings with his deputies due to the large crowd present for the windmill presentation.

As a citizen of Botetourt County, the low crime rate for the past 20 years, says a great bit about the abilities of Ronnie Sprinkle as a sheriff. All toll, he served 31 years in law enforcement in Botetourt County.

Happy retirement and Thank You, Sheriff Sprinkle!

Employees of BCSO came in support of the Sheriff.
