Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Dept receives proclamation on 60th Anniversary
At the November Board of Supervisors meeting, members of the Volunteer Fire Dept in Blue Ridge received two procalmamtions for 60 years of service to the community.
The proclamations were read by Botetourt Co. Fire andEMS Chief Jason Ferguson. The documents came from the Board of Supervisors as well as the House of Delegates.
Blue Ridge Fire Chief Mike Maddox said, “Without the many dedicated volunteers over the years, this would not have been possible.” He thanked all of those who continue to volunteer for both the Fire and Rescue Squads. Rescue joined with the Fire Depratment in 1984. He was accompanied by Capt. Joel Keister and firefighter Dennis Graybil.
