5 Ballast Points in California and 1 in Chicago bought by Kings and Convicts on Dec. 3

Ballast Point closed the popular Daleville restaurant this past summer.

Breaking news: Kings and Convicts a small, local brewery in Chicago has purchaced the Five Ballast Points in California and 1 Taproom Ballast Point in Chicago from Constellation Brands according to The Chicago Tribune.

The sale took place on Dec. 3 and no price announced, but Constellation purchased Ballast Point for 1 billion a few years ago.

How this will affect what is left here, a brewing operation in Botetourt County, will be interesting. The restaurant closed in the summer and left only the brewing operation in the building here in Daleville.

Gary Larrowe the Botetourt County Administrator had this to say this morning. He said that Constellation Brands has kept the operation in Botetourt County.

“Constellation remains a strong and valuable member of the Botetourt Corporate family. With the announcement of Ballast Point being sold, Constellation Brands will be able to more fully utilize their production facility in Botetourt County. There will be no loss of employment or capital investment in Botetourt as a result of this announcement. The production facility will continue to be available for increased innovation and future expansion.”

Stay tuned for more about this developing story.
