Ward is to be the new Sheriff in a landslide victory on Nov. 5

Results are in for School Board: Davidick, East and McCaleb are chosen by voters.

Matt Ward is the next Sheriff of Botetourt County. Nov. 5 election results are in the books, unofficially until the election is certified but the numbers are up.  

At a post-election party at Tizzone’s the place was packed with Ward’s well-wishers. Ward walked through the crowd speaking to his many supporters. “I am glad to be the new Sheriff,” he said with his usual good will, even after a long day of campaigning at the polls.

Ward won with a whopping 82.39 per cent of the vote.

Matthew East defeated incumbent Scott Swortzel in the Blue Ridge School Board with 60.33% per cent of the vote.

Tim Davidick won the Valley District School Board seat with 54.88 per cent of the vote.

Dana McCaleb won the Fincastle District School Board in a three-way race with 48.64 % of the vote.

All those that ran unopposed won, of course and included Chris Booth, Commissioner of Revenue, Bill Arney, Treasurer, John Alexander, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Billy Martin, Blue Ridge Supervisor, Dick Bailey, Fincastle Supervisor, Mac Scothorn, Valley Supervisor, Del. Terry Austin, Del. Chris Head  and Sen. Steve Newman.

A host of Town Council members in the three Towns and 2 soil and conservation district representatives were also selected.
