Catawba Rd repairs will take two months

A pair of stoplights have been set near the entry of Cave Hill Dairy Farm on Catawba Road. VDOT spokesman Jason Bond said, “This is the final drainage project of a 2.6 million, 2-year contract of 6 projects in three counties. The planned updates began in 2016 in Roanoke, Franklin and Botetourt counties.

The stop signals will be activated this week. The signals will be in place for 60 days as each side of the road is excavated leaving a one lane road. Two pipes will be replaced with a double box culvert, he noted.

“This project should be wrapped up by fall.” said Bond.
