Our Around Botetourt columnist is also a fine wildlife photographer. Anita Firebaugh took these photos on her farm in Troutville.

The wild turkey was proposed to be the national bird by Benjamin Franklin. Ultimately turkeys became the national Thanksgiving food and the Bald Eagle the National bird!
