STEM Camps at DSLCC coming up June 24 – 27 and onward

       A series of four-day “Black Rocket” camps focusing on digital arts and STEM subjects — Science, Technology, Engineering and Math –  for youngsters ages 8 through 14 is being offered this summer on the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Clifton Forge campus. All Black Rocket programs mirror real-life experiences and the collaborative nature of the design process, and encourage creativity and imagination.

       Sessions are available for morning, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon, 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

      The first camp is “Make Your First 3D Video Game,” scheduled June 24-27 in the afternoon.

     “3D Game Labs with Unity” (morning) and “Battle Royale: Make Your First Fortnite Style Video Game” (afternoon), are scheduled July 8 -11.

     The week of July 15-18 will have “ROBLOX Makers” for the morning session, and “Minecraft Modders” in the afternoon.

    “Code Breakers” is scheduled July 22-25 for the afternoon.

     The final week, July 29-August 1, will feature “Virtual Reality: The Future is Now” in the afternoon.

     Each session is limited to 12 students; the registration fee is $139 for each camp, except for Virtual Reality, which is $158.
