Catawba Valley Farmer’s Market opens season today

CVFM opens May 9 at 3:30 p.m.

The Catawba Valley Farmers Market (CVFM) will reopen on May 9, beginning the 10th year of providing locally-grown meats, fruits and vegetables, home-baked goods and handmade crafts. Sales at this Market provide additional income for local vendors while making fresh, high-quality foods available to the consumers. Hanging baskets, potted plants and bedding plants will be in abundance during May.

CVFM now has a food trailer! Buford’s BBQ, from New Castle, will join us occasionally throughout the 2019 season. Buford features pulled pork BBQ, hot dogs, BBQ baked beans, cole slaw, and beverages. Baby back ribs and chicken halves will sometimes be offered.

CVFM is located at the Catawba Community Center, 4965 Catawba Creek Road (Rt. 779), Catawba, VA 24070. Vendors are set up under the newly-expanded picnic shelter on Thursdays from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m., rain or shine. This location is a Roanoke County park with a playground, basketball court, green space and restrooms on site. Area is Handicap accessable
