“Antonious, Son of Rome” by local author Brook Allen

Brook Allen aka Margaret Courtney

Her pen name is “Brook Allen” for her almost name and her maiden name says Greenfield music teacher Margaret Courtney who has published an historical novel called Antonious, Son of Rome, by Brook Allen. The first book is in a trilogy based on Marc Antony, the famous Roman general.

Courtney said, “It has taken fourteen years of research and trips to Rome, Greece, Egypt and Turkey to get the book out in print.” The second book of the triology is under revisions now. Most of her research time has been in Hollins University Library with the help of Dr. Christiana Salowey, Hollins University professor of Classics.
