80th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor will have a brief ceremony at Hotel Roanoke Today

Bill, Clifford and Jack Thomas at Thanksgiving 1941 just a couple of weeks prior to Pearl Harbor.

At 12:55 PM (Roanoke time, 7:55 AM Pearl Harbor time), December 7. 2021, Taps will be played at the Hotel Roanoke in remembrance of those killed and injured at Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. All are invited to attend.

80 years ago the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The photo is of my Uncle Bill already in the 1st Marines, my Grandfather and my 20 year father who would serve in New Guinea for 3 years ater enlisting following Pearl Harbor.

Daddy was playing football in a park in Roanoke when a kid rode by and told them about what happened at Pearl Harbor. Everyone went home to listen to the radio with family. Uncle Bill would fight from Guadacanal through Okinawa and never be the same man that left the US after Pearl Harbor for the war in the Pacific

America 80 years later faces more threats from within than ever. If you can’t go to Hotel Roanoke, stop a minute to remember what happened long ago in a paradise at the hands of infamy. History must not repeat itself.
