Can you help Gavin have a Happy Birthday Party?
Come to the Botetourt Event Center Friday night Dec. 20 from 8-9 p.m. Make this a good day after a bad one. Do you know a clown? We are looking for a clown for Friday night at the Botetourt Event Center. Read on…
Gavin a child of the community of Buchanan had a birthday party last weekend. He invited 20 friends. Not one of them came, not a even an RSVP. What gives parents? Have you forgotten what it is like to be a kid? How would your kid feel? What are you teaching? Do you go to church on Sunday but forget the rest of the week “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?”
Yes. I am mad about you and your care less behavior. So close to Christmas, too.
So. That was your call out. I am ashamed this happened in Botetourt County. We are better than this! His father is a Veteran, works with the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Dept, did the 911 Walk and the First Responders Memorial Tree in front of the Fire Dept. His Mother is an RN. These people take care of you. And this is how you treat them and worse yet, their child? Shaking My Head at YOU.
But not to worry. My local hero, New Freedom Farm’s Lois Fritz stepped up. This veteran and innovator who does so much for the community and what she does with horses and therapy for Veterans is astronomical. Once again she said, “Hey this not the way people treat each other!” Guess who else chimed in to help? Buchanan Supervisor Ray Sloan offered to hold the party for after the Slacker’s Annual Christmas Caroling at the Botetourt Event Center right next to Botetourt Funeral Home from 8-9 p.m.
Gavin has been gathering peanut butter for hungry kids. He has over 400 jars. So bring a birthday card, a jar of peanut butter and pack the parking lot. Make this little boy know that Botetourt County is a great place.
I hear Batman is coming. Sure would like a clown, too. Have the clown contact Lois at the New Freedom Farm FB page or me at cathy@thebotetourtbee.com or better yet. Text me at 540-793-0896.
Hope to see you there!
