Picnic celebrated Joe Sell’s recovery from heart attack, organ transplants

Cindy and Joe Sell

Joe Sell of Troutville suffered a life threatening heart attack in early January. Times were touch and go for him until he went to UVA hospital. By mid February, he had a heart and kidney transplant. His wife and children, family and friends rallied around him.

Fast forward to June 2 at Troutville Park. Cindy Sell thanked the many attendees of the celebratory picnic, “For your prayers and support.”

Laughter and good times followed as the attendees dined on Pork BBQ and multitudes of sides like baked beans, slaw, potato and pasta salads of all types, desserts and fruit.

Joe is doing very well with the results of his surgery and transplants. He is the owner of A-Plus Automotive on Lee Highway and has been back to work. He laughed with one of his friends about going fishing, his favorite past time.

Life is good. Prayers were answered. Joe’s life goes on, moving forward to the new normal.
