Noises Off! at Attic Productions continues Thurs- Sat Oct. 11-13

Noises Off – a play by Michael Frayn
How lucky we are to have the Attic Theater and their constant new offerings. The current production, Noises Off, a comedy by Michael Frayn, directed by Kerry Plank, is running October 4 through 13, including two afternoon shows on Saturdays. (Just call the box office at 540 – 473 – 1001 for details.)
It’s not just luck but all this hard work has created a seasoned cast and crew. They have created from scratch the set of this current show. It’s a two story affair, a set that turns around between acts to show back as well as front, with multiple working doors, too. The cast has learned the acting craft so that the performances ring true to life. And also they have learned a lot of slapstick moves so they tumble down stairs (or onto the floor) without injury.
One thing you need to know, since this is a British comedy – the inland revenue the characters are avoiding is the same as what we here in America call the Internal Revenue Service. Because they don’t want to be caught, they claim not to be where they are – rather that they are in Spain. And so unavailable to show up for meetings. The acting troupe here  portrays a first rehearsal, one of the shows on the road, and then finally the last performance. And to top it off,  the cleverly dressed criminal element. Come see this latest comedy done by your talented neighbors.
