Three Lord Botetourt students start golf apparel company “Fairway Fools”
Three Seniors at Lord Botetourt have started their own web based company that sells golf apparel. It’s called “Fairway Fools.”
The three, Cole Salvi, Tanner Lovern and Dylan Salvi had this to say in response to The Botetourt Bee inquiry about the business of selling golf apparel.
How they began their company came from the learning experience in a business class at the high school.
The three reported,“The class that gave us inspiration and entrepreneurial principles is “Be Your Own Boss” with Mr. Jonathan Cook at Lord Botetourt. This class helped us organize and research everything we needed for our business, from our mission statement to how to run our accounting books,”
Great Life skills being taught at Lord Boteourt and a business builder in Botetourt County!
They explained the process of their business which uses other local companies here in Botetourt to produce their product and business materials. And, they answered why they started this particular busines.
” The thing that sparked the idea of starting the brand was this past golf season. Dylan and Tanner, were looking for trendy golf apparel to wear on the course and saw an opportunity to make golf gear that is performance oriented and has the ability to be worn off the course as well. The idea and brand has taken off. Many in Botetourt and from multiple other states are filling golf courses and social settings with Fairway Fools gear that they bought in person or on our website.”
The trio did their research and explained what they are doing.
“All apparel and accessories are made and manufactured here in Botetourt County. We get our business cards from Cindy Falls from Digital Image, another Botetourt run business. This business venture has been a hands-on business learning experience that has taught us how to provide people with quality products and customer service. It is the most surreal feeling when you are going to events in Botetourt and you see people everywhere wearing Fairway Fools! “
So who are these guys anyway? All three of the Fairway Fools founders have been friends since elementary school. They responded, “Sports were the thing that brought us together, especially travel basketball. This love for sports has played a huge role in our life and our business.”
