John Kilby headed up the campaign for thr Saunas

Daleville, Virginia (October 13, 2021) – The Botetourt Family YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge, recently opened two saunas at the YMCA facility located in the Daleville Town Center.

“Adding saunas to the already expansive wellness offerings at the Botetourt Family YMCA was made possible because of gracious donors who contributed $37,000 to fully fund the project, all focused on continuing the Y’s focus to improve the nation’s health and well-being for their spirit, mind, and body,” said Mark Johnson, President and CEO of the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge.

The capital campaign for the saunas launched in November 2020 and was fully funded by mid-December 2020. “The donor response to the sauna capital campaign at the Botetourt Family YMCA is a testament to the commitment of the Botetourt community to support the Y’s Mission and the resident’s health and wellness needs,” said John Williamson who co-chaired the campaign committee, along with John Alderson and John Kilby.

The Botetourt Family YMCA’s saunas are open to members 16 years of age and older and are located on the pool deck, adjacent to the Waldron Foundation Lap Pool and Kirk Family Pool. The local community can join the Botetourt Family YMCA for $1 during the month of October to receive unlimited access to YMCA amenities.
