Bank of Botetourt is pleased to announce Mary Ann L. Miller, VP – Business Banking & Community
Relations, is now serving as the Regional Director of the Central/Southside Region of Virginia for the
Virginia Bankers Association (VBA) Emerging Bank Leaders (EBL). The Regional Directors of the EBL serve
as the leaders of each of the six EBL regions in Virginia, in conjunction with the EBL Chairman and Vice
Chairman. Regional Directors, like Mary Ann, preside over regional EBL events, help plan and market
such events, and act as a sounding board for the VBA on other matters affecting the efforts and
activities of the EBL.

“As a previous graduate of the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management Mary Ann has
been actively engaged in the EBL since she came to the Bank in 2016. We are proud to have her serving
on the EBL Steering Committee and are pleased she will be representing our region of Virginia as a
Regional Director. I know she will represent our industry well and we look forward to supporting her in
those efforts” stated G. Lyn Hayth, III President and CEO of Bank of Botetourt.

By virtue of this position, Mary Ann also serves on the VBA EBL Steering Committee, whose mission is to
ensure a continuum of leadership for the future of Virginia banking. Both the committee appointment
and the regional director position are one-year terms, with the possibility of being reappointed for
subsequent terms. VBA’s fourteen committees, including the Emerging Bank Leaders Steering
committee, provide the association input on matters affecting the banking industry, as well as input on
education and training needs. Additionally, committee meetings serve as a forum for the exchange of
ideas and for networking that benefit each committee member, their respective banks and in turn the
communities they represent.
