Shop at the Botetourt county History Museum!
Botetourt County Historical Society and Museum is pleased to announce the release of their 2021 calendar. This year’s calendar features full color photos of historic log cabins and homes throughout the County as well as a beautiful watercolor image on the cover by Connie Marsh. The calendars are priced at $12.00 and are available at the museum as well as Ikenberry Orchards store. Proceeds from the calendars help support the Botetourt County Historical Society and Museum.
The Museum is also selling ornaments that feature the museum – part of the historic Western hotel complex built in the 1880s – in three dimensional gold. This makes a great addition to any tree! The ornaments are for sale at the museum for $17.00 each.
As part of the 250th celebration, the Botetourt County Historical Society commissioned a brand new book that details the history of Botetourt County. Ed McCoy, retired editor of The Fincastle Herald, tells the story of Botetourt’s earliest years through to more modern times with beautiful cover art by local artist Mark Woodie. Each paperback copy is signed by the author and are $10.00/copy.
Another local artist, Brooke Ludy, has created a whimsical print of Botetourt landmarks as part of the Sestercentennial. Each print measures 16×13 and are $10.00/each and available at the museum. This is a great piece for any art lover!
An additional commemorative item is the 250th Cat’s Meow piece. This special item highlights communities all through Botetourt County such as Blue Ridge, Oriskany, Eagle Rock, Troutville, Buchanan and more!
As a treat for the holiday season, the Botetourt County Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of their new exhibit that features antique chocolate molds! The molds are on loan from an anonymous lender and on view until early 2021. As a sweet treat, stop by and see this unique exhibit and pick up some items for the history lover on your Christmas shopping list!
