Josh Davidick earns his Eagle Scout
Joshua Davidick, of Bonsack Troop 584, received his Eagle rank on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. For his project, Josh chose to hold a blood drive and had a goal of 32 pints of blood to collect. In coordinating with the American Red Cross, Josh secured two separate drives in the fall of 2019. As per the project requirements that were set for him, Josh initiated blood drives in locations where they were not regularly scheduled; the first was held in September at the Fincastle Fire Department, and the second was held in November at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Troutville.
Josh had the overwhelming support of fellow Lord Botetourt Marching Band members, their parents, and members of the community coming to donate in November. Not only did Josh meet his goal, he exceeded it, collecting 34 pints. According to the Red Cross this project would benefit up to 102 people, as each pint helps up to three individuals.
Editors note: Only 4% of all Scouts over the history of the organization have earned their Eagle Scout rank. Congratultions, Josh!
