Mauck and Stiltlner awarded TVFD scholarships

The Troutville Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce that 2 graduating seniors from the County High Schools were awarded scholarships to support their higher education in the fall. Reagan Mauck & Mikayla Stiltner from Lord Botetourt and James River High Schools respectively were chosen from the numerous qualified applicants. These two young ladies stood out due to their tremendous academic performance as well as their extra curricular involvement. The scholarship, which is administered by the Community Foundation of the Roanoke Valley, is targeted at graduating seniors seeking a public service career who have demonstrated need and met certain academic and community involvement requirements. The Troutville Volunteer Fire Dept held its first annual Golf Tournament at Ashley Plantation in the fall of 2019 and the proceeds from this were used to award the $1000 scholarships. The Scholarship Committee will be working to host the second annual golf tournament this fall on September 25th @ Botetourt Golf & Swim. The Dept would again like to thank all participants and sponsors who were able to make this opportunity possible. If you would like to know more about this event please feel free to reach out via golf@tvfd.org or call the firehouse: 540-966-8661.
