Read Mountain Middle School wrestlers finish banner year

We set the single season school win record by finishing 18-2. We also set the single season bout record with 411 individual bouts. Undefeated wrestlers were Cooper Roberts (7th grade) and TJ Piluso (8th grade). This is the second year of 40+ wrestlers on the squad.

Due to consistently high numbers and interest, next season we will split the team into two separate squads based on experience and skill and wrestle two separate schedules.That will also be a first in school history.Lord Botetourt has 38 wrestlers this season and will only graduate five. Read Mountain will send 15-20 wrestlers there next season.

Due to increased numbers and interest, the high school has created a JV team that wrestles a separate schedule from varsity. A school first for them as well. Read Mountain will return half of our starting lineup next season and over 20 wrestlers total. Coaches are Paul Craft, Micah Young, Tom Oxley, and Danny Thomas. It’s an exciting time to be wrestling in Botetourt County.
