Letter to Editor in support of Dana McCaleb for Fincastle School Board

Dear Editor and Readers,

I’m writing on behalf of Dana McCaleb, candidate for Botetourt County School Board, Fincastle District.  Dana and I became professional colleagues in 2005 as educators at James River High School.  As a part of the school’s literacy team, Dana served an integral and invaluable leadership role on both the school and division levels.  In 2008, we became certified to assist teachers with reading/writing instruction across Botetourt County in order to ensure successful outcomes for all students.

In her current role at the Virginia Department of Education’s center at Virginia Tech, Dana helps to create local, regional, state, and national partnerships with the continued focus on promoting student success.  This position provides Dana with the opportunity to demonstrate her knowledge and skills that are crucial to fiscal responsibility and communication with students, parents, educators, and other members of the community.

In closing, I encourage voters to come out to the polls on November 5 and strongly consider supporting Dana McCaleb for Botetourt County School Board, Fincastle District.
