Cavalier Classic Band Festival this Saturdy Oct. 19 at Lord Botetourt

The Lord Botetourt Marching Cavaliers are hosting their annual invitational band competition this Saturday at Lord Botetourt High School.  The Classic this year is one of the largest that we have hosted.  We have 24 bands from across Southwest Virginia and Tennessee attending.  The attending bands will be competing in several different classes based on the number of playing members. 

A selected a panel of adjudicators that are well known in their areas to evaluate each band’s performance in Music, Visual (Marching), Effect, Percussion, Color Guard, and Drum Majors.  The scores are weighted and added together to determine class placement.  Due to the number of bands they will have two award ceremonies, one for smaller bands and one for larger bands. 

Prior to the awards ceremony for the large bands, our Lord Botetourt Marching Cavaliers will perform in exhibition.  The judges will give us feedback but we are not competing.

Lord Botetourt exhibition will be at 8:00 p.m.
