Jane Garnett honored for Girl Scout work in the state of her birth
Jane Garnett of Cloverdale has worked in Girl Scouts in Virginia. However she was honored in West Virginia, too for being a founding member of Troop 1912
Thursday August 22, Jane Garnett attended a reception for Black Diamond Girl Scouts in Charleston WV at the Governor’s Mansion for the founding members of Troop 1912. Troop 1912 is an honorary Girl Scout Troop for adults who aspire to serve as role models and be a voice that shapes the next generation of leaders.
Jane was first a Girl Scout in South Charleston WV. She became a Girl Scout leader in Cloverdale for her daughter’s troop and has served as a volunteer for 35 years in Virginia Skyline Council. She currently serves on the Archives Group. In the fall, she will be assisting with her granddaughter’s Daisy troop.
