Law Day at DSLCC

Speakers for the 2019 Senior Law Day held August 14 on the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Clifton Forge campus and hosted by the Alleghany-Bath-Highland Bar Association were, from left: Attorney Meade Snyder; Elaine Engleman, Social Security Adult Services; Pat Loving of Loving Funeral Home; Attorney Jeanne Hepler; Marnie Byrum, President of the Virginia State Bar; Attorney Bill Wilson, who served as moderator; Ann Gardner, Commonwealth Attorney for Alleghany County; Attorney Bill Parks; Shaun Mabry, Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for Alleghany County; and Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall. Not pictured: Dr. David Crandall. The topics ranged from estate and funeral planning to long-term care, dealing with Alzheimer’s and avoiding scams. This is the fifth time that the local bar association has held Senior Law Day, which was attended by over 200 area residents.
