Red Ribbon Week at Greenfield Elementary

Greenfield Elementary has celebrated Red Ribbon week all week long. Lif is a journey, don’t let drugs ruin the trip. The studnets have worn pj’s for Monday–ie don’t let drugs ruin your dreams. Had a vacation day, Greenfield spirit day, Boots on thursday–Kick drugs to the curb. Just to name a few. They have 500 apples to give out from Ikenberry orchard, and the grand finale is to wear red on Friday. A letter was sent home to parents encouraging parents to talk to their children about remaining drug free. Guidance Counselor Debra Boyd and teacher Danielle Tolley were the chief architects of the week’s events.

Wednesday however was extra special. First BoCoFit Rage showed up to get the blood pumping in the gym. The students really got moving! Then the K-9 patrol featuring Jaap the dog and two deputies Cody Noakes and Chuck Davis assisted by DARE officer Kim Saunders Wyrick put JAap through his paces.
Finally, Miss Virginia 2018 Emili McPhail gave the students tips on life and encouragement. She has thus far in here reign visited 71 Elementary Schools across the state. Her platform is hunger in America. She met with groups of students and the kids really clicked with her.
