Suicide the Ripple Effect: Oct. 12 at the Grandin Theater

Two Botetourt organizations have a focus on suicide prevention. New Freedom Farm focuses on Veterans– 22 per day commit suicide; and a suicide support group that meets there. Lead by Rev. Marina Godpadze and her associates, the support group meets at New Freedom Farm on Thursdays each week at 6:30 p.m.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds.

It is estimated that 5.1 million living Americans have attempted to kill themselves
This event was previously postponed due to the impending hurricane on September 14, 2018.
There will be an exclusive free showing of the award winning documentary, Suicide: the Ripple Effect.
The story of Kevin Hines will be shown at the Grandin Theater at 9:30 am, Friday, October 12, 2018.
Following the showing, there will be a panel discussion by local professionals with expertise in suicide
intervention and prevention.
