International Dot Day celebrated at Fincastle Library
International Dot Day took place at the Fincastle Library on Thursday Sept. 13. 15 people came to the afternoon event and made dot pictures for the day. The event is based on a book called The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, about making your mark. International Dot Day began in 2009. Children’s Librarian Jackie Horowitz read the book about making one’s mark in the world. Then she showed the attendees how to make the pictures using water colors, Q-Tips and different size cups. The pictures were attached to construction paper for a finished product.
Weather permitting Dot events are scheduled today at Blue Ridge Library.
