JRHS art students to participate in Open Studios

Open Studios Botetourt to feature art by JRHS students

Art featuring geometrics as the class theme of JRHS students will be in Open Studios Botetourt on Oct. 27 and 28 from 9-5 throughout Botetourt County.The students will donate half of the proceeds from their sales to The League of Animal Protection. Student work will be featured both from James River and Lord Botetourt at studios of some of the dozen artists participating in the event.

“Mark Woodie, one of the studio artists brought the canvases to JRHS,” explained Gina Stanley the art teacher.

As for the production of the canvases, “The kids really enjoy it,” she said. Stanley also teaches art at the Studio School in Roanoke.
