County amends Munters Performance agreement

The Board of Supervisors on September 28, 2021 approved an amendment to its Performance Agreement with the Munters Corporation project, a $36 million facility under construction in the Botetourt Center at Greenfield.

Economic Development Director Ken McFadyen said the county’s end of the project had run into obstacles related to sewer and road construction for the project. The county was supposed to have completed these items by October 1, but delays have moved the end date back to June 15, 2022.

McFadyen said supply chain issues and delays in state permits had kept the county from putting the sewer and road in place in the time frame as originally agreed. Construction continues, however, and the builders are using a gravel road for the time being.

The Economic Development Authority was expected to approve the changes at its September 30 meeting.
