Dabney S. Lancaster Community College nursing graduate Danielle Rock of Troutville proudly shows off the t-shirt worn by her 6-year-old son, Sean, during the combined graduation and pinning ceremony for the two DSLCC nursing programs May 13 on the Clifton Forge campus. The t-shirt says “My Mommy did It! And she did it for me!” Danielle was one of 39 students who earned the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. She is currently employed in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with plans to eventually pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. DSLCC hosted three separate graduation ceremonies on May 13, 14 and 15.

Jarrod Hix of Fincastle, flanked by his proud grandparents, RaLynda and Austin Dudley, also of Botetourt County, celebrates earning the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Forest Management Technology from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, following commencement exercises Saturday morning, May 15, on the DSLCC Clifton Forge campus. Hix was one of eight students who completed the two-year forestry degree. DSLCC hosted three separate graduation ceremonies on May 13, 14 and 15.

Six James River High School students who attend the Jackson River Governor’s School at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in Clifton Forge participated in DSLCC’s commencement exercises Saturday, May 15, to receive diplomas for completing the Career Studies Certificate in Science and Mathematics.
