Lord Botetourt squeaked by Liberty Christian Academy 24-22 to advance to State finals

A dry field was much better for the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers against Liberty Christian Academy. The Cavs scored well in the first half. With Bratton at QB and Rice returning on offence for 8 plays, the Cavs muscled the LCA team in the last part of the 2nd Quarter, At the beginning of the 3rd, LBHS scored their one and only TD in the second half. When the heavens poured rain on the two teams, Liberty began a comeback. LCA then scored 22 unanswered points. Fortunately, LBHS finished the game ahead and ran the clock down from the 3 minute mark. Lord Botetourt will travel to the state finals next Saturday, May 1 in the Tidewater area against Lafayette High School of Williamsburg.
