Blankenship convicted of Arson of the old Hubbard Homeplace on Etzler Rd

Timothy Blankenshop, 55 of Blue Ridge was arrested in March of 2020 on an arson charge of the old Hubbard Homeplace on Etzler Rd in Daleville. The event took place in Jan. of 2019. Recently he was convicted on the arson charge of the old Hubbard Homeplace plus two unrelated charges for Larceny.

Blankenship rented the home from the current Owner Mike Amos, but had vacated the premises at the time it burned in January of 2019. “The dwelling was unoccupied at the time of the fire,” according to Commonwealth’s Attorney, John Alexander.

Sheriff Matt Ward acknowledged Blankenship was also tried for 2 counts of larceny for stolen items found in his possession at his time of arrest by the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office n March of 2020.

Alexander said Blankenship plead guilty and all three charges were tried at the same time. Blankenship is being held at the Botetourt-Craig Correctional Center awaiting his sentencing.
