School Board hears details Summer School Academy will be for K-12 by invitation
The details are still being ironed out, but Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Russ told the School Board on April 15 that CARES money will be used to pay for the Summer Acdemy which will address needs of students where Covid pandemic has affected their learning and instruction.
And to ease fears the parent public may have, Administrators expect this to be invitation only. School Principal at Greenfield, Laura Camp said they expect about 20 students by grade level. Dr. Russ said he thinks the pay level for teachers will be in the range of $30- $40 per hour. Add to teachers, some teachers assistants, cafeteria staff and other associated staff will be needed. At this time, all school buildings are expected to be used. School hours will be in June and July with an expected 8:30-2: 30 day and will cover elementary, middle and high school for the students who neeed to get back to grade level due to the constraints of the Covid pandemic’s effect on learning..
