Church of Transfiguration dedicates new sign Aug. 16

The Church of the Transfiguration is excited to announce that the dedication of our new sign will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 16th at 7624 Roanoke Road…thanks to the overwhelming outpouring of support from so many!
Why the big deal about a sign? And why did we decide to embark on this project in the middle of a pandemic? Because our new sign has both a practical and symbolic meaning. Practical because we are letting people know that we are the Roman Catholic presence in Botetourt County and not just “the pink church on the hill.” And symbolic because it proudly represents our intention to be a sign of inclusion, unity and welcome to everyone.

We will be livestreaming the dedication to our Facebook page and will be showing it in the Social Hall for anyone who doesn’t want to make the trek to and from the sign. All activities will require a mask and social distancing, as well as comfortable shoes if you plan to walk up the incline for the dedication. Because of current restrictions, we are not able to host a reception afterwards, but we will have bottled water available.
