iFlows system measures Botetourt rain totals in local creek and river gauges
One of the more helpful things in local weather is knowing how much rain has come to Botetourt (and the whole state.) The iflows system is a helpful state -run observation and early warning system for potential flooding.

You can have hourly to 24 hour rain amounts. Since the county is flood prone, this along with Fire and RMS alerts, the Botetourt County Website and the Sheriff’s Department, residents can be forwarned when it might b a bit more difficult to get in and out of your home to work or return.
Bookmark the link. It is an interesting look at the difference a few miles can make. But better yet, you know what is happening if you must travel through flood plains or live in one!
