JRHS Senior Class Information
May 17, 2020 – Baccalaureate Service, Limestone Park, 1:30 p.m.
● Students should wear caps and gowns for this service.
● Cars will be admitted to Limestone Park beginning at 12:30 p.m. and the service begins at 1:30 p.m. The Baccalaureate service will be a drive-up church service and attendees must remain in the vehicle. Please follow the directions given to you as you enter the parking lot.
● A special thanks to Mill Creek Church, Buchanan Baptist. Lee Hartman & Sons Inc., and Chip Lawrence for sponsoring this event.
● JRHS parents and community members are sponsoring a “Knight Cruise 2020” immediately following this service. After the service, parents will leave first and find a place to park. The route will be from Limestone Park, through the Town of Buchanan, down Lowe Street and then back to Limestone. Parents should find a place to park along this route and remain in their vehicle. After parents have left Limestone, students will follow the fire trucks through the same route.
May 19, 2020 – On-Line Graduation Ceremony, 7:30 p.m.
● Your Graduation Program is listed on the JRHS website to provide a program of events.
● May 19 at 7:30 p.m., a link to the video for the online graduation will be accessible from the BCPS website and the JRHS school website.
● Some awards and scholarships will be included during our online graduation ceremony video. Also, awards and scholarships recognitions will be posted on the JRHS school website.
● We are fully committed to an in-person graduation which will take place as soon as possible.This online ceremony certainly does not replace our in-person ceremony but is an opportunity to mark this special date.
May 20 and May 21, 2020 – Diploma Pickup & Return of School Items Times: May 20, 12-2 p.m. and May 21, 2-4 p.m.
● Students should wear caps and gowns for this event.
● Students and families will enter the front parking lot from Springwood Road and follow directions to the right in the main parking lot.
○ Items to return: Students may drop off Chromebooks, textbooks, library books, and athletic uniforms.
○ Items to pick up: Students will receive awards, honor cords, tassels, diplomas, and locker contents.
○ Photo opportunity: A LifeTouch photographer will be at JRHS to provide a special photo opportunity for students to have a picture in their cap and gown near the Athletic Entrance. Students will be provided a free 8×10 picture by mail. After the picture, vehicles will exit the parking lot onto Route 43.
