Azalea Road in Daleville may be closed to through Truck traffic
Azalea Road, a short-cut from Catawba Road to US 220 in the Tinkerview Gardens subdivision that has long been an aggravation for local residents, may be yet another “no through-trucks” road in Botetourt County.
On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors held a public hearing at which no one spoke. They then voted to allow the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to conduct its own public hearing as the final step in placing restrictions on truck traffic on Azalea Road.
The Supervisors have been studying the issues and complaints about Azalea Road for over a year. Truck traffic has increased since the opening of a gas station at the intersection of US 220 and Catawba Road.
