Libraries are closed due to Coronavirus concerns

Botetourt County Libraries to Close to the Public

The world is currently reacting to the rapid spread of a viral infection known as COVID-19, or coronavirus. In fact, as many may have seen, Governor Northam has even ordered all K-12 schools in Virginia to be closed for the next two weeks. Locally, Botetourt County officials have also been monitoring this situation for some time, trying to analyze credible information sources and determine the probability of risk to the County and its citizens and visitors.

As a result, out of an abundance of caution, the Botetourt County Libraries will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 through Sunday, March 29, 2020, due to public health concerns with COVID-19. Library staff will be still available to assist patrons by phone or by email Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bookdrops will remain open for returning materials, and requests will be transferred to other Roanoke Valley Libraries for pickup upon request.

Digital resources will still be available 24/7.
